With a strong work ethic and focused tenacity, Olympian Eric Thomas overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles to become a world-class athlete in Track & Field. Born and raised in the rural town of Garrison, Texas, Eric learned that perseverance and a winning spirit will lead you to personal and professional success.

During his 10-year career as a professional Track and Field athlete, Eric earned a silver medal in the Pan-American Games in 1999; competed in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia; earned another silver medal in the Pan-American Games in 2003 and became the U.S. Champion. For eight years of his 10-year professional career, Eric was ranked as one of the Top 10 Track & Field athletes in the world.

In 2005, Eric founded Champion Trainers (www.champion-trainers.com) with a mission to improve the health and fitness of Texas youth by training young athletes for success in their chosen sports activities. Champion Trainers provides individualized athletic programs to improve endurance, speed, agility, flexibility, mechanics and overall performance. Champion Trainers also works with individuals to create a program specific to their needs, including nutrition counseling, body toning and conditioning, Boot Camps, and simple well-rounded fitness programs for clients of all ages.

Eric believes in the importance of educating young people on the benefits of staying active in order to create citizens who live longer, healthier lives. His mission is brought to life with All Sports Summer Skills Camps, which offer a fun, yet challenging setting for keeping young people active during the summer months. The camps focus on basic fitness that will benefit any athlete, as well as specified fitness plans that help target the mechanics and key muscles used in the sport each child has chosen.

In addition to his commitment to health and fitness, Eric is a true role model for young people. He speaks to students throughout the school year on overcoming adversity, goal-setting and having a strong work ethic. With a personal desire to support students pursuing higher education, Eric established the Eric Thomas Foundation, which provides scholarships to deserving high school graduates.
